March Event: "Loving" Turlock
Saturday, March 23, 2013:
GenerationOn members took notice of all the trash around Downtown Turlock and decided to take action about it. We scoured six blocks, with a team of kids on both sides of the street, looking for litter. There was a surprising amount of cigarette butts and trash right next to trash cans. All in all, we helped make Downtown Turlock a more beautiful place, filling up many trash bags of our own. We even got honks of approval. Good job everyone!
EDIT: The Downtown Property Owners' Association raved about how well the GenerationOn kids did with the clean up. One of the members even gave us a shout out! :)

February Event: Chalk Walk
Monday, February 11, 2013:
We partnered up with Art Club and the Anti-Bullying Club at Pitman to help create a more positive school environment for students--via chalk. We focused our attention on the inner quad of Pitman High School and decorated our campus's sidewalks with inspirational messages (ex: You are so beautiful!; Hakuna Matata; Don't forget to smile today; etc) and colorful art work. It was a fun and neat way to make someone smile :)

December Event: Have A Heart
Wednesday, December 5, 2012:
GenerationOn members (and other guests!) met in the library to listen and learn about a growing problem in our community: homelessness. We had two guest speakers, Tim Guerino and another who came and represented Turlock Gospel Mission well by shining a whole new light on the homeless. Their talk truly opened our eyes and as a club, we are thankful for their knowledge on the subject and the time they took to help us understand. They taught us to have a heart for the homeless during the holiday season and for years to come.

November Event: Operation Christmas Child
Thursday, November 8, 2012:
Christmas came early this year! Club members either made their own box or brought items to the group packing session in Mrs. Staley's room. Items ranged from teddy bears to toothbrushes, all of which GenerationOn members used to fill up 24 boxes (in under 40 minutes) for boys and girls from ages 2-14. Mrs. Staley received 90 boxes from the students in her classes. These boxes will be sent out to kids to show them that they are valued, loved, and that they matter--just in time for the holidays!
EDIT: The boxes we sent out were distributed to children in Mongolia, Nepal, the Phillipines and Panama.

October Event: Think Pink
Thursday, October 11, 2012:
Our first EVER club event! GenerationOn sold pink lemonade at the freshman through varsity volleyball games for $1/cup. We ended up selling 108 cups and raising $185.09. All money we made was donated to Emmanuel Center to help pay for women to get mammograms--a peremptory process that could help save their life! Not to mention, our volleyball girls beat our rival Turlock! An overall success! Thank you to all who helped.
